Why Mexican Food Won’t Help Shed Pounds

Mexican food is probably on the list of everyone’s top 5 favorite ethnic cuisines. It’s delicious, it’s rich in flavor, it’s fun to eat. However, it is not going to help you shed any of those pounds that you want to get rid of! Mexican food is full of starches! Flour tortillas, corn tortillas, sopapillas, floutas, chimichangas, rice, cheese, chips, etc… Nothing on this list is healthy for you to eat in large amounts. Rarely when we go out to eat at Mexican restaurants to we find ourselves eating fruits and vegetables in a healthy way. we are usually devouring som enchiladas, inhaling some tacos, or feasting on a plate of quesadillas. That being said, it’s no wonder that eating Mexican food is not going to help you lose weight. If you really want to shed the pounds, then you are going to need to stop eating Mexican food for the time being and focus on healthier meals, either prepared by you or prepared by somebody else in a meal replacement program.

Programs like the Medifast diet are geared toward helping you lose weight without much effort at all. You only need to order the food that you want to eat and it will come delivered to your door. However, if you prefer preparing your own meals, this is cool as well. You can begin with some salads, and then move toward meat fruit and veggies only. Just make sure you are drinking plenty of water whichever the route you choose.
