Satisfying My Green Thumb with a Greenhouse Kit
Last January, I was kicking myself for not taking advantage of “slow season” deals on greenhouses. My garden had long ago been put to bed for the winter, and my insistent green thumb had not found much satisfaction in merely tending for houseplants. I needed a place to grow something! I even had it picked out; nothing fancy, the Gardener’s Oasis made by Solexx. It is small enough for energy efficiency, but grand enough to really get green things coming up and thriving.
But this year, I didn’t let the deals pass me by. I jumped on one of the deals on greenhouse kits I saw, and had it delivered just in time for the New Year. I had it assembled in under a day, and the following day, I was planting trays of seedlings in preparation for a bountiful late winter harvest. I was a little nervous about regulating the temperature, but this great greenhouse is so insulated (double-thickness corrugated plastic panels!) I had no trouble dialing in the sweet spot the first night. So now I can say I have joined the ranks of the greenhouse gardener. I am thrilled, and so are my green thumbs!
