Portofino View European Tapestry
According to the Roman philosopher, Pliny the Elder, the Italian town of Portofino was originally named Port of the Dolphins (Portus Delphini ) because of the number of those animals found in the bay. Today, in addition to serving as a regional center, the fishing village of Portofino attracts people from all over the world and is considered one of the loveliest spots on the Mediterranean. The Portofino European View tapestry captures the charm of this magical place. Shadows fall across the faces of the tall, angular building clustered along the waterfront. Groups of awning cafés and umbrellaed tables are scattered about the promenade. Elegant sailboats with slender masts sit in the still, reflective water. In the distance, a wider view of the harbor shows purple mountains surmounted by gold hued clouds.
The Portofino View tapestry can be found in the European Tapestries department of Decor4u.com. Enter the Tapestry Shop and select European Tapestries and look in the Coastal section. The Portofino View tapestry has been beautifully constructed of 100% cotton and measures 53 inches wide by 42 inches high.
