With all of the different baby products out there it’s hard to choose which one is right for your little one, especially when it comes to blankets. Babies form such an emotional attachment to their blankets that quality becomes important too. After all, they drag those everywhere. Satisfying My Green Thumb with a Greenhouse Kit

Last January, I was kicking myself for not taking advantage of “slow season” deals on greenhouses. My garden had long ago been put to bed for the winter, and my insistent green thumb had not found much satisfaction in merely tending for houseplants. I needed a place to grow something! I even had it picked out; nothing fancy, the Gardener’s Oasis made by Solexx. It is small enough for energy efficiency, but grand enough to really get green things coming up and thriving. (more…)

Grandma’s Famous Bean and Bacon Bit Soup

Have you ever had bean and bacon bit soup? I didn’t either until after I got married to my husband. His grandmother, a true hillbilly woman, puts on a pot of this every Thursday morning and by supper time it is ready and the entire extended family (including grandkids and great grandkids) gathers in her kitchen to enjoy the soup and each other’s company. I’m so grateful “Grandma” has shared this special recipe with me.
