Singing software that Improves Vocal Pitch
Most singing software is in the form of plugins for recording and mixing sessions that add special effects to the voice. Reverb and delay are the most common affects to add to the voice and make a world of difference in a final product. Ideally a singer will be recorded in a dead quiet space, but then the recording sounds flat. Adding reverb gives the audible appearance of being recorded in a concert hall or other setting. Singing software like this can be found for free with mediocre results. And, some of the reverb software can cost thousands of dollars.
Vocal pitch software could be a plugin for use in recording, but recently new developments have enabled stand alone applications to analyze a singer’s vocal pitch in real time and yields an excellent training tool. For yet unknown reasons, visual feedback works better than audible feedback to fine tune ones pitch. Also interestingly, audible feedback works better for getting in the ball park of the correct pitch. Fortunately modern singers can reap benefits that their predecessors never dreamed of.
