Even when peaches are fresh, they may not be perfectly juicy and sweet. I’ve been disappointed in the last few batches of peaches I’ve purchased to make my crisp, so decided to change my favorite dessert to Canned Peaches Crisp. Most canned fruit is an excellent alternative to fresh because they use select ripe fruit for the process. When using canned peaches in your crisp, you’ll notice that your dessert ends up really nice and sweet, and peachy! You won’t be disappointed, and neither will your family. In the US, it is tradition to give a gift to each groomsmen in your wedding party. However some guys get stuck trying to dream up great gifts for the groomsmen -it isn’t always as easy as what you’d like.
One of the primary considerations when choosing for groomsmen gifts is ensuring what you are getting is going to be appreciated. Bear in mind that you don’t have to each of your groomsmen the same thing. So if your guys are really into sports, then getting them a sports mug engraved with their name is a fantastic idea. You can also find some shot glasses that come with the emblem of NFL teams on one side and can be engraved on the other.
If your guys are not drinkers, go with something practical. Something that has everyday use. A money clip card holder is a great alternative. You can also get these engraved which shows you cared enough to get the gift personalized just for them. Wallets are another great alternative. It just depends on the habits of your groomsmen.

You can add the timeless appeal of a Cappiello poster to your home – with a wall tapestry from Decor4u.com. Vintage Asti Cinzano Tapestry is taken from one of Cappiello’s earlier works, circa 1910. A woman playfully holding a bottle of Asti Cinzano above her head is entwined in the tendrils from two bunches of grapes. An unseen wind blows her hair and dress. I had never thought too much about planning my garden until last winter when I read an article about the importance of planning your gardens and flowerbeds and even your potted plants! I had always had good luck with growing things so I never felt that I needed to plan. But after reading the piece I decided I would do a little research and plan my flower beds and garden and I have been pleasantly pleased. By the end of the season last year everything had filled in just like I had envisioned. Read the rest of this entry »

There are so many wonderful hobbies to enjoy - some people have their music, some their painting, others like woodworking or sports. My creative outlet is cooking and baking. I truly enjoy trying to make new meals and desserts for my family, taking a recipe and tweaking it a bit to our personal tastes. Sometimes the job can get a little messy of course. I try to have my ingredients laid out in advance before I dig in, but there are always the minor spills of flour or sauce to contend with. And of course I sometimes forget to change into something I don’t mind getting dirty. That’s why I’ve started wearing aprons when I cook, much like my mother and grandmother did before me. But I say if you have to wear an apron, why not cook in style and wear something unique like this Fun Shibori Kitchen Apron. Read the rest of this entry »
Whether it’s a work event, school event, or church event, when you attend a potluck, you are in for a treat. Anytime you gather around a table full of crock pots, you’ll find at least one crock pot barbecue meatballs dish to tempt you. Oh, my mouth just waters even thinking about those little meatballs swimming around in that tangy sauce. If there is more than one meatball dish on the buffet, I’ll be sure to try one of each just to see how people are making theirs, and hopefully score a recipe or two. Read the rest of this entry »

According to the Roman philosopher, Pliny the Elder, the Italian town of Portofino was originally named Port of the Dolphins (Portus Delphini ) because of the number of those animals found in the bay. Today, in addition to serving as a regional center, the fishing village of Portofino attracts people from all over the world and is considered one of the loveliest spots on the Mediterranean. The Portofino European View tapestry captures the charm of this magical place. Shadows fall across the faces of the tall, angular building clustered along the waterfront. Groups of awning cafés and umbrellaed tables are scattered about the promenade. Elegant sailboats with slender masts sit in the still, reflective water. In the distance, a wider view of the harbor shows purple mountains surmounted by gold hued clouds. Read the rest of this entry »

Last January, I was kicking myself for not taking advantage of “slow season” deals on greenhouses. My garden had long ago been put to bed for the winter, and my insistent green thumb had not found much satisfaction in merely tending for houseplants. I needed a place to grow something! I even had it picked out; nothing fancy, the Gardener’s Oasis made by Solexx. It is small enough for energy efficiency, but grand enough to really get green things coming up and thriving. Hunting. A cold, miserable day; awake at the earliest hours of the day, sitting in a tree with nothing but the wind and a thick jacket. Often times you take some sort of beverage in a thermos. What kind of thermos? Traditional cylinder-esque metallic thermoses are great, this is well known. However have you ever considered that they could deter an animal from coming near your location. Animals are attracted to bright objects, and even the slightest glint off of the outside of the thermos could indicate to the animal to stay away. This is why a Hot Pack Realtree-Camouflage thermos is the best option for hunters who want to take hot beverages. Read the rest of this entry »
